Expert -There are many reasons people don’t want to quit their jobs before they are sure of where they are going.
True to form, many people will not risk moving out of office until they have money in the pocket enough to start a venture. They also would prefer starting first before moving away.
We have enlisted some of the reasons people don’t want to quit jobs before they are sure of where they are headed.
Money factor
You cannot be sure of whether your venture will start bringing in cash; and for this reason alone you will find it hard to resign before you are sure.
Remember, early months of any business will be frustrating and this makes one of the key reasons some startups fail as soon as they start.
Fear of losing your job in case you want to come back
Most individuals would start thinking about where they are going and what happens if they wanted to return. For fear of losing your place in a company may make it hard to decide quitting.
Simply put, you may worry that if you quit, you may be unable to return to the workforce in the future. This is somewhat illogical but unavoidable nature. Talk to a boss or supervisor you trust, and get their opinion on a potential return if your business doesn’t pan out.
Being unsure of your idea.
Granted, if you have no good idea then it lacks sense to resign. You are required to first be sure about where you are headed. But this is not saying you shouldn’t risk. There has never been a good idea for anyone. People thrive in error and trial.
That said. if you want to start a business you will have to be realistic and make sure whatever you want to start is achievable.
You will also be needed to be enthusiastic with whatever you want to do and focus on it without giving up so soon. You must be ready to be consistent. Fruits will naturally follow later.
