Auctioneers have raided The Star Newspaper printing premises and are currently taking away many items including newspaper printing machines.
In an early morning report shared by a renowned source, this is over a rental debt of Ksh. 4 million The Star has been unable to pay.
The Star which is owned by Radio Africa that also runs Classic FM, Kiss FM, Kiss Tv among other stations, just like other media houses, has been struggling financially with its reliable journalists and staff forced to quit job.
Media stations in the country are facing difficult financial period due to shift in news to digital platforms. This situation has deprived most of them advertisement revenues in millions.
As a result, workers are forced to go for long months before payments.
