President William Ruto has refuted claims that his government had used a whopping Ksh 100 billion to build SHA infrastructure.
Addressing the matter today for the first time, the commander-in-chief established that there have been certain voices hellbent on misleading the nation on the SHA health programme because they have been defrauding the old systems which ran the National Hospital Insurance NHIF.
“This noise you are hearing on the internet is made by brokers who have been stealing from the old system NHIF. They have also told you that we are using 100B. There is no government money that will be used on SHA,” he added.
Ruto also noted that almost 40 percent of NHIF funds were being taken away by cartels who still want to defraud the systems.
The head of State said, the people complaining about SHA are those who have been benefiting themself from the NHIF programme irregularly.
Ruto announced that his government is going to have a consortium of technology companies that will make sure that there are no fraudulent claims in SHA unlike before when ghost facilities used to make fake claims worthy billions.
