Conference –Tony Blair and Azimio la Umoja Party leader Raila Odinga will be addressing the scheduled Devolution Conference to be held in Eldoret at the Eldoret Sports Club, this month.
In a report by Homenews.co.ke, it was confirmed that the former British Prime Minister Blair is among guests listed as key note speakers at the devolution event that will also see other leaders address over 15,000 guests.
In its final programme released today Friday August 11, the Council of Governors CoG secretariat revealed further that the conference whose main theme will revolve around 10 years of devolution, said, Mr. Odinga will also address dignitaries.
President William Ruto will launch the conference followed by Mr. Blair who will speak at the first session of the conference where the sub theme will be Driving Transformation from local level with the county government as the center of economic development.
Further, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Chief Justice Martha Koome, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, Speaker of Senate Amason Kingi and CoG Chair Ann Waiguru will also be addressing.
“We are happy that we will be hosting our high-level guests. We wish to assure them that we are much prepared as we gear for the city status soon”, said hosting governor Janathan Bii.
On Thursday August 18th, the key note address will be given by Henriette Geiger who is ambassador of European Union to Kenya followed by Mr Raila Odinga’s speech.
On the last day which will be on a Friday, Anthony Ngororano – a resident representative UNDP Kenya will address followed by clsoing speech from Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua
