Jobs -Radio personality Carol Radull has switched camps and she will now be deputing at the rival NTV station just five kilometers away from Radio Africa where she has been for two decades.
The acclaimed sports journalist has found a new lucrative landing at the rival Nation Media Group just days after giving veiled hints on her next move.
Details indicate that Ms Radul will launch a new show Gameplan which will be be running on tv every Monday night. She will have to team up with Great Boy and Kieni Githinji.
“Nation will reveal (the show) from tomorrow, they will run teasers so if you see the teasers on TV, it’s pretty obvious…The deal is for the foreseeable future, if you tune in, we’ll be there for a long time, if you don’t we will be gone,” Ms Radull is quoted as saying.
Radull made her Radio Africa exit on her Facebook page folliwng her relentless service at teh station for a whopping 21 year period. She joined the station on August 8, 2000 as a news reporter. She would then take over the news desk at Kiss 100. She was later involved in launching of Radio Jambo where she became their programme controller.
According to Business Today, in 2012 she stated that she also helped launch the RAL Digital department (including Mpasho), which she says was not “exactly her cup of tea”.
“2016 and Bamba Sport was born. This was an exciting project and I got to hire amazing talent like Ida Waringa and Mukami Wambora (both of who had never been on TV and both of who have become sports broadcasting Superstars), Mohamed Abu such a sports journalist extraordinaire,” she bragged.
Of late, radull has been at logger heads with a section of Radio Africa bosses what pushed her off air now for 18 months.
“I never believed I was designed to push papers and write reports. I haven’t been on radio for a year and a half for reasons I choose not to share but in two weeks’ time. I will be back on your airwaves; with the “Great Roy” and Kieni to continue to push the sports agenda,” she stated.
The journalist also worked for BBC World Service as their East Africa Producer between July 1997 and April 1999. She also joined Reuters Television for a stint.
Definitely with her vast experience in media broadcasting, Radull will play a big role in turning around the viewership at NTV when she officially takes over the role.
