Appointed–President William Ruto has today through an official Gazette Notice appointed Professor Lukoye Atwoli.
Atwoli will serve in the capacity of the non-executive chairperson of the board of directors of Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital.
These changes having been effected in a Gazette Notice released on Friday, November 3.
The son to Central Organization of Trade Union (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli, will hold the position for three years, starting next month November this year.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (a) of the State Corporations Act and Paragraph 6 (1) (a) of the Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital Order, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoints Lukoye Atwoli to the nonexecutive chairperson of the board of directors of Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital,” read part of the notice.
Mr. Lukoye is one of the leading professors in matters associated with Mental health research. He currently holds two positions as dean of Aga Khan’s Medical College and also co-chairs the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine’s Board on Global Health.
