Fundraiser –Top government officials and Azimio-allied politicians today camped in Western Kenya where they raised a whopping north of sh 8 million in a single church fundraiser.
Kenya Kwanza bigwigs led by Prime cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavaddi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula presided over a church haramabee held in on Sunday September 24 in Shinyalu Kakamega County.
President William Ruto who was conspicuously missing sent his contribution of sh 2 million with his deputy Rigathi Gachagua also sending his sh 1million.
Wetang’ula and Mudavadi added their donations of sh 1 million each as ODM Party Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa making a donation of sh 500,000.
Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party elected Member of Parliament Mumias West, John Naica, added his sh 50,000.
State-allied leaders among them Trade CS Moses Kuria (sh 700,000), National Assembly Majority Whip Sylvanus Osoro (sh 200,000), Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka (sh 200,000) and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah (sh 500,000) also contributed towards the event.
Additionally, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot (sh 500,000), Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen (sh 500,000), Sports CS Ababu Namwamba (sh 200,000) and Health CS Susan Nakhumicha (sh 100,000) also made their cash contributions.
Leaders from both political divides used the opportunity to preach nationwide unity with Silvanus Osoro and Moses Kuria assuring the locals that every citizen is a shareholder in the current government.
On his part, Chief Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi same to Moses Wetang’ula assured that their friendship still holds.
