Graft –Ex-Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya together with his two wives were arrested on Tuesday morning.
A source reported that the former Kakamega county boss and his wife Priscilla were arrested by officers from the Directoarte of Criminal Investigation DCI on Wednesday August 23 morning.
Furthermore, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission EACC officials were also present during this raid that targeted his two homes.
Oparanya and wife Priscilla are linked to acts of corruption and abuse of office during their tenure in Kakamega County.
The officers raided the couple’s homes in Lang’ata, Nairobi and Emabole village, Butere and seized several documents and assorted electronic devices.
Following the arrest, the couple was driven to the EACC offices at Integrity Centre for questioning.
Oparanya was Kakamega Governor for a period of two terms and it was during his tenure that the incomplete Bukhungu Stadium as well as the multimillion Referral hospital were started.
The two mega projects are still struggling to be completed a year since the new administration took over.
