Thursday, May 4, 2023 –Rapper-turned-actor Colonel Mustafa born Daudi Mustapha has made a confirmation that all is not well with him.
Talking to a local media house today Thursday May 4 afternoon over his viral video clip in which he was working at a construction site somewhere around the city, the Kinyaunyau hitmaker, said music industry weathered dry forcing him to try something else.
The former Ogopa Djs signee was responding to those claiming that he was seeking clout in preparation for another music video.
“When you are working there are alot of issues, kunakuwanga na beef pia na stori mingi kwa mjengo, so maybe labda kuna mtu alileak.
“Hi maze ni blunder, ni blunder.
“After that information nimeshindwa hata kutembea, kwani huwezi jitafutia, sasa itakuwa aje? Na siko vizuri ivo, mambo ni ngumu bana.
“But sasa kuna msee tu hapo I think alifanya hivo (leak the video) so I didn’t even know usiku ndio nilipata information vile nimerudi,” he said in reaction the trending video.
Mustafa described his life as having been of mixed steps – ups and downs – and confirmed to journalists that he has been working at mijengo sites for now a year.
He revealed that anytime he shared or asked his colleagues in the music industry to support him with some cash, they didn’t take him seriously. “Unajua mafriends nimekuwa nawaambia, hawaskii” he continued adding he wasn’t landing any gigs leading to financial strife.
His last performance show took place in April last year before he called it quits.
Mustafa started a dynamic rap group with Nasty Thomas in 2000s and recorded chart-busters like Kinyaunyau, Katika, Monalisa, and Adhiambo.
