Launch -The Nation Media NMG group has launched the once popular Weekly Review WR magazine.
The once viral weekly publication will be headed by Mr. Mutuma Mathew who will be its director of content.
Digging deep into some background, the first issue of the revamped magazine, which shook the core of the political elite from the ’70s until just before the turn of the century, was reborn as a Sunday Nation Magazine pullout which featured Kenya’s former First Lady and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s mother, Mama Ngina Kenyatta.
Interestingly, the new publication, by looking at it from far, has maintained its original design with red coloured cover,
This design, no doubt, reminisces the paper’s 1990’s version founded by the Harvard-scholar Hilary Boniface Ngweno.
The Kimathi street-based media outlet has, therefore, tapped the services of both tech savvy young graduates as well as old school journalists so that to give it both feels for a wider and steady readership.
Last time they published the magazine was 23 years ago.
