Interview -Finishing your college requires that you start looking for a job of your profession. It is not always obvious that you will have to land the job you trained for, but chances are higher that way.
Done first interview and lost, second same fate befell, third and you want to give up. That is not how things are done. Having papers or to be plain, college Degrees is not enough. The world has evolved very fast that your own knowledge is required to play out when you are on a job searching mission. Many of you think schools are meant to teach you how to live, NO! They are meant to teach you to learn how to live.
That said, interview has its own challenge. It will require a lot of sobriety to win one or else you might remain just a job seeker the rest of your life. You must have read of serial job seekers.
Fast forward, though you must look good – neatly dressed – during your appearance before the interviewing panel – the nervous period too remember! But you must know how to address your panelists. So basically addressing is much far better than dressing.
How much should we pay you? That is the common hardest question that will always be asked after everything else. It is always asked by that humble cute lady in the team. We will address this so that it can help you next time you are going for an interview. Okay, you have been asked and you must give the answer. Never shut up on this. Every interview question must be answered. This one too must be addressed.
Essentially, the question is always asked to test your maturity and readiness to take up the job. They are satisfied with all your answers but this one can fail you at once. So therefore what should you be doing? Simply take it back to them.
Just like a hunter with one arrow, you must never ever throw a figure; it amounts to carelessness. The reason is obvious for with appetite for a fat pay, you might be tempted to give a long digit the size of your telephone number. Mistake. Don’t. It will knock you out and the next man will be picked. So to beat this level, reverse the quiz back to the panel. Its not rude? But remember not every question can be answered this way anyway. The goal is to trigger the panel to tell their own figure.
“Well I am not aware how much people in this capacity are paid here. I could be having my figure but I can’t carry it here. I am taking what you have been offering or what you have planned to offer. This I do with grace”.
That answer is enough and I can assure you that the next thing you must start waiting for is the calling letter or bluntly put, an appointment letter.
