Company –YouTube Chief Executive Officer CEO Susan Wojcicki has stepped down from the giant tech company.
Wojcicki who has been at the helm of YouTube headquarters made this resignation confirmation on Twitter saying this was a personal decision which has come at the right time after 25 years of service at the tech giant.
“Today, after nearly 25 years here, I’ve decided to step back from my role as the head of YouTube and start a new chapter focused on my family, health, and personal projects I’m passionate about.
“The time is right for me, and I feel able to do this because we have an incredible leadership team in place at YouTube,” her message read in part.
She was one of the first employees at Google who joined the company in February 2014 and managed to serve in different top roles.
She also helped the company to acquire YouTube – a video sharing platform that has seen content creators make a decent income worldwide.
“I took on each challenge that came my way because it had a mission that benefited so many people’s lives around the world: finding information, telling stories, and supporting creators, artists, and small businesses,” she said in her departure statement.
Mr. Neil Mohan, YouTube’s Chief Product Officer, will be taking charge of the company after Susan has left.
She has, however, promised to remain behind for some months to help the new CEO go through a smooth transition.
