Boycott –Opposition leader Raila Odinga today listed three major companies in the country for boycott.
Addressing hundreds of supporters on Tuesday March 21 at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation in Nairobi, Raila directed his supporters countrywide to stop buying service from Safaricom, Kenya Commercial Bank and Radio Africa’s Star Newspaper. He accused them of being skewed on important matters.
He described the three as key facilitators of the Kenya Kwanza government that is not keen on helping suffering Kenyans.
“Boycott Safaricom, Kenya Commercial Bank and Radio Africa Media particularly the Star Newspaper who have become the enablers and facilitators of this brutal regime. Enemies of the people
“These corporates have become the enemies of the people and are benefiting from the blood and tears of Kenyans,” Mr. Odinga said.
Supporting the sentiments, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka said the Star has been notorious by misrepresenting facts when it comes to reporting news concerning their Azimio la Umoja.
“We respect the media and that is why Raila has expressed his gratitude for the continued coverage. But there are those who think that we don’t have rights. We have rights. We call for the media to take fair coverage. We are asking the star to be impartial,” Kalonzo supported.
Mr Odinga then seized the opportunity to remind President William Ruto of the irreducible minimum before protests can be called off.
The ODM boss who announced that their demonstration will be held twice per week still wants the government to lower the cost of living, Ruto must agree with the opposition in constituting the new commission, the IEBC servers to be opened and reinstatement of the ousted ‘Cherera four’ commissioners.
He also demands an all-inclusive government and that the president should stop the “ethnicization and commercialization” of public service.
The opposition leader further asked the Kenya Kwanza administration to stop the sacking of civil servants whose crime is serving in the former regime.
