Blogging -What is blogging? So many persons get confused to understand this profession or hobby despite it being popular, nowadays.
A blog started from the word web blog or website blog. This is simply a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group that is written in an informal or conversational style.
This hobby was initiated in 1994 by Justin Hall, while he was a Swarthmore College. Of course, at that time they weren’t called blogs, and he just referred to it as his personal homepage. It wasn’t until 1997 that the term “weblog” was coined.
However, note that this has evolved a lot and there is nolonger writing just anything and informally. Blogging today entails professionalism if you wanted to be taken serious by your readers.
If for example you want to blog about news, you will need a professional web developer as well as a good name that resonates well with your niche.
Also, the writers you employ or if you are doing it yourself, still you must write like a journalist with few spelling errors – if possible none, good grammar and well researched stories with some background.
Remember, apart from your readers’ urge to read reliable content on your blog, Google has become so strict and could ignore your content just because it doesn’t look professional and reliable enough. In fact it flags fake news as the competition has become stiffer.
That said, with your laptop or desktop, internet connection, and a passion for writing, blogging can be one of the easiest startups you can run from the comfort of your bedroom or home office.
What you have just to do is to have a quick-loading website that is well designed, grow your traffic for some months or two to three years then think of how to monetize your content.
There are several ways a blogger could earn from their website. Some of these ways include, Google AdSense, affiliate marketing, direct banners from individuals and corporate entities as well as running sponsored posts. This website here majorly makes money through sponsored posts.
Moreover, apart from blogging, there are many other ways you could make money online. These are – offering freelance writing, web designing, virtual assistance, consultation, and trainings. Finally, you can sell some online products such as e-books, online courses, and workbooks.
It goes without saying, nothing is easy. There is no easy money online; and when it sounds so easy and good, it is a scam. Rule of thumb, ignore if it is so good. Golden rule, be consistent with what you have chosen to do.
