Selling –Art of making sales is not a rocket science or does not require a skill that cannot be perfected by anybody.
On earth, anyone can sell anything as long as he or she is passionate with communicating essential skills of what is on sale.
Note that selling is an art that requires certain unique skills that can be inborn or trained. These skills include both the soft and hard skills. A seller needs to connect to his or her client so as to create a sort of partnership rather than the seller taking advantage of the customer.
Whenever you are chasing for a client, do not push him or her so hard to a point they feel you are bogging them. Too much force in sales can easily ruin a sale. Make sure that anything you do or speak is done professionally and within the purview. Do not cross the Rubicon of a potential buyer. Nothing puts off like that.
Create or wait for the correct environment to pitch your product and, if an elevator pitch is necessary, you can do it but with much restraint and control. Do not meet someone on stairs or in a CBD lift or in a meeting and start the long story of your products or services. Your elevator should be quick and run fast in about 45 seconds then give out your business card and turn away.
While pitching, focus on the main part or importance of your service or product. The best way to ensure this runs on smoothly is to prepare early in time before starting to interfere with people’s programme or time.
And you must remember that skills in the art of selling can be the same in books but, when selling different products or services, this can vary. You cannot use a skill you used to sell a pair of shoe to a person who wants to purchase parcel land or car. Try to tweak the process a bit since shoe and land or car have different value each.
In getting someone’s attention during the selling or meeting moment, you have to work fast and accurately to make sure something doesn’t cross his or her mind. Buyers are very delicate and can change within a blink of an eye. You do not want to lose such a ready buyer. Who does anyway?
But it goes without mentioning that the most important aspect or side of sales and marketing is to pick on fast-moving or quality products. Quality of anything cannot be overemphasized.
