Success -Billionaire entrepreneur Chris Kirubi has dropped vital lessons for those aspiring to rise to riches through business. According to the mogul, just like him, one has to capitalize on poverty to become a success.
“Poverty was my motivation of working towards who I am today. I have invested into many things and I have lost a lot of money. But I never gave up. If I can make it to where I am, you can also make it,” Kirubi noted.
In his recent interview, he claimed that he is still struggling to make it even bigger. Having got to where he is today did not mean he should stop working for more.
“I don’t feel I have made it. I go to Harrods and I buy the best pair of glasses. That is the best money can buy. I want you to aspire to that,” he added.
He went on to refer to an article he recently came across titled, “If you are poor at 35 you deserve it”. Though very painful, it held some water since to be successful in life you must be ready to try anything. To start something and see if you will fail then rise up again and start another.
Kirubi chronicled his struggle to stardom by referring to the Chinese billionaire Jack Ma who founded World’s biggest online commerce company.
Jack knew that regardless of failure or success, the experience in itself was a form of success.
“I was poor and knew that I had nothing to lose but to try my best because I was ready to rid myself off poverty and change my life. I was thirsty to make my life work, to experience luxury and become self-sufficient, turning my struggles into a success,” Kirubi went on.
He however, disagreed with those reporting that he is among the richest men in the country. His only concern is to see people get help from his hand so that they could also live well.
The businessman advised young men who want to go into business to use every single opportunity to create or sell something. For instance, he argued that if most Africans are walking bare footed, why not use that opportunity to start a shoe selling business?
Kirubi has invested in real estate, media, distribution as well as manufacturing businesses.
