Expert -CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Warren Buffett details the only sure way to double any income – as communication.
In his interview with VoiceFlow co-founder Michael Hood, Buffett noted that young people who want to make it in life must learn to communicate perfectly. He described communication as the best ingredient for wealth.
“The only easy way to earn 50% more than you are worth now […] is by honing communication skills, both written and verbal,” Buffett said in the video posted online.
He recounted how terrified he was before he enrolled for a course in public speaking to horn his communication skills. He joined Dale Carrnegie for a Diploma which he has framed and hanged on his office wall.
“If you can’t communicate, it’s like winking at a girl in the dark: nothing happens. You can have all the intellectual capacity in the world, but you have to be able to transmit it. And transmission is communication,” explained Buffett.
Similar sentiments were shared by billionaire Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin Group, who said that today it is essential to be a good storyteller to be able to sell.
