Success -A lady who started her career in hospitality with a meager salary of sh 6,000 per month today boasts of owning a multi-million tour company in Nairobi.
Esther Njoroge never believed that travel and tourism was her cup of tea when she was growing up until things started working by themselves.
She pursued Social Sciences in the University. In third year, she went for a second attachment in a non-governmental organization. However, a few weeks into her Social Work internship, Esther was offered a tour consultant position in the tour company within the NGO. It was hard to believe this as she was never confident of her self.
This position according to Esther was so new just like was the environment. However, after wide consultations with friends and family, she ventured into it. Eventually, she accepted the position with a starting monthly pay of only sh 6,000 and worked there for 2 years.
“Eventually, based on the experience I gained from my first job, I founded my own tours and travel company. My first client paid me a whopping sh 1M and I made good profit from this,” Esther recalled.
Today, Ms Njoroge is the proprietor of a multi-million Bountiful Safaris Company. She credits the company’s success to having a strong spiritual pillar and working smart as well as a strong team working for her day and nights.
She is expanding her bases across the region now that the business has a stable revenue flow every day.
