Firms -Betting industry has grown by leaps and bounds and Kenyan entrepreneurs are reaping big from the industry.
Among the quickest growing betting companies is Sportpesa which still towers the rest but many, as well, are doing so well in the local virgin market.
Also on this list is Mozzarbet which is owned by politician Musa Cherutich Sirma. He also owns Mozzarbet Africa and Mid Logistics Ltd. Sirma is a long time Kenyan politician who has once served as minister East African and Regional Cooperation in Kenya and former MP Eldama Ravine.
Secondly, Sportpesa though owned by a number of foreign investors, Asenath Wachira Maina is a Kenyan business lady owning 21 percent stake in the lucrative firm. She is the wife to the former Nairobi City Mayor Dickson Wathika. She also doubles up as an executive director COTRR which is an NGO run by woman and supports grassroots community projects. Sportpesa is also owned by CEO Ronald Kaurari.
Last but not least is Mr. Jimmy Kibaki son to former president Mwai Kibaki. He runs a fast rising local betting site Odi bets Kenya. In fact this is the only known 100 percent Kenyan-owned-betting company.
