Burning -Mombasa Road-based Bomil Industries almost went into flames at around 7PM with thousands of mattresses getting on fire.
In a source report received on the evening of Friday April 21, fire broke out along Mombasa Road near Bobmil Industries Limited, a company that has for decades specialized in selling of mattresses in and outside the country.
A representative from the company confirmed the incident noting that the Bobmil CEO, after receiving the tipoff, quickly ran to the source of fire to try and find a way of helping contain it.
“We have received the reports of the fire at the company. I was at home because today is a public holiday. My bosses and other company heads are heading to the scene to establish the damage,” he told a local channel.
A heavy cloud of smoke engulfed the air around the industry as authorities attempted to establish the real course of the flames.
This would be followed by a reaction from Nairobi County firefighters who started rushing to the scene to help put off the fire.
Hundreds of Kenyans, would therefore, start calling upon Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and other stakeholders in the county to intervene and help contain the situation to prevent it from escalating into further damages.
