Hiring –Trans Nzioia County Governor George Natembeya has threatened to import dotosr from the neighbouring Uganda.
The first time governor, today Tuesday April 23, told doctors union to stop holding medics at ransom when patients are dying across the country.
“I am now going to be a bad man. We are stopping their salaries soon and I will be in Uganda next month to import medics,” he stated.
The governor expressed his dissatisfaction with the ongoing medical doctors’ strike that has hit its second month.
Doctors started their strike in mid-March mainly over salary arrears, the government’s failure to hire trainee doctors, a drop in pay for trainee doctors, and lack of comprehensive health insurance cover for themselves and their dependents.
