Career –Citizen Tv-owned by Royal Media Services RMS has, since last year, been losing key journalists who are joining government jobs.
First to start the exit from Citzien Tv was Hussein Mohamed who who resigned, stayed home for about a year then was taken by President William Ruto during his 2022 campaign period and when the Kenya Kwanza took power, he was officially appointed Statehouse spokesperson replacing Kanze Dena who had also left Royal Media Services earlier to join Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee government.
This was quickly followed by the exit of Francis Gachuri who, after Ruto won power, he was called to join top communication team in the Ministry of Interior.
And today Wednesday February 14, news about reporter-per-excellent Jane Chemutai Goin emerged that she was currently serving her last days at Citizen Tv station.
The seasoned political reporter is already serving her month-long notice and she is set to leave by March this year.
Media was reliably told that Ms Goin is slated to work at the office of the National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula in the capacity of principal media relations officer.
Equally, Citizen Tv’s crime and investigative journalist, Hassan Mugambi, is also set to leave Royal Media Services RMS as his time to join Ministry of Defence nears.
According to Kenyawide.com, it is established further that the journalist is currently serving notice ahead of his formal departure from the RMS.
The news reporter-cum-anchor will assume the role of communication advisor at Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale’s office.
