Business -If you are thinking of starting a business in January, one thing you must put into consideration should be the amount of money you are willing to invest.
Increased cost of living compounded with taxation in Kenya has led to businesses shutting down instead of opening and, it is for this particular reason, that one must be careful not to start a venture that may fail in months time.
So, first make a budget and do enough groundwork or research on your area of business/ specialty then make sure the business is markatable.
Always test your line of product and see how it can be received by customers before bringing in more stock.
You must also learn on the competition availability so that you can strengthen all your lose ends.
Have licences ready to avoid rubbing shoulders with authorities. Licences may include trade license, tax and health licenses. This varies by each State.
Last but not least, always learn to do most of the tasks by yourself before dedicating some duties. The business will naturally learn to call for reinforcements and that is when you can start hiring staff.
Hire carefully so that to avoid making stuff recruitment errors.
And remember that January is a difficult month in every year. It will, therefore, not be easier to navigate through but when you persevere and remain firm, other months will definately be a walkover.
