For Sale –Contested East African Portland Cement EAPC land in Athi River Machakos County has been set for sale by the owner.
EAPC management has made the announcement amid the ongoing demolitions that have seen many families rendered homeless for alleged land grabbing.
President William Ruto is accused by home owners of making the directive that has since costed them both money and safety.
And on Tuesday October 17, EAPC company indicated plans to sell part of the parcel to interested persons.
It assured that it will make sure the selling exercise is regulated and monitored closely so that no one is duped again in the process.
The multimillion company has, therefore, earmarked three parcels of land including LR 8784/144, 145 and 653 for sale.
It confirmed that the exercise will give priority to those already occupying the area unless they are not interested or cannot afford.
“First and preferential priority shall be offered to the parties currently occupying sections of the said parcels. Those in this kind of situation are advised to state their claim of the same within 14 days from the date of this notice.
“At the expiry of this notice, all unclaimed portions shall be competitively offered to the general public on a willing buyer-willing seller basis,” the notice read in part.
The company announced that anybody who will be willing to participate in the auction can visit the EAPC premises along Namanga Road for clear details.
So far, may homes, schools, churches have been brought down in a demolition exercise that was triggered by Ruto’s directive issued on Friday October 13.
The head of State asked anybody who has been holding a plot in the area and still undeveloped to relinquish their Title Deeds back to the land owner.
Area governor Wavinya Ndeti would come out to blame President Ruto for not being considerate to the current occupants.
