Media Business –In a survey released today Thursday September 14, it has emerged that Royal Media Services-owned Tv station Citizen Tv tops in the country.
The survey conducted by established pollster, The Geopoll, found out that the SK Macharia media enterprise has a huge viewership as compared to the rest.
In the mobile research conducted between September 3 and September 9, Citizen Tv was discovered to have attracted a viewership of 22.8 million. This viewership having been conducted across its news segments as well as other shows.
It was followed by NTV which garnered a viewership of 10.6 million across its line of news and entertainment activities.
Third in viewership numbers came Kenya Television Network KTN that has 9.2 million persons glued throughout its linear Tv.
The most improved station among the Tv stations was the newcomer Tv 47 which the pollster indicated that was quickly gathering views due to its roaster of new anchors recently poached from other senior stations.
The polls showed that Tv47 is currently attracting 6.8 million eyeballs – meaning it could surpass KTN should it continue with the same momentum.
Other stations which were researched and ranked accordingly included Maisha Magic at 8.4 million viewers while K24 TV (6.6 million), KBC (6.4 million), Inooro TV (5.3 million) and Ramogi TV (4.3 million).
In the February this year findings by Media Council of Kenya MCK Citizen Tv maintained its lead with 36 percent of the market share in Kenya.
