Allocations –National Government has disbursed a whopping sh 110 billion to devolved units.
Addressing in a church function on Sunday June 26 noon, President William Ruto confirmed to have paid all the dues to the counties in the country.
He assured citizens that he is trying the much he could to avoid unnecessary borrowing of loans and that this, sometimes, forces him to delay disbursements.
The head of State noted that the National government now owes no county any coin and all the money disbursed was not borrowed by the national government from any lender.
“This week I have paid all the money top counties. No single shilling county is asking from the national government,” he confirmed.
This is a great difference from last regime which he said used to borrow money from lenders to give to counties.
The head of Sate added that, unlike Uhuru’s regime, he will be making sure counties have their money in time.
He urged county governors to offer required services to their residents and to also use the money prudently.
The disbursement is coming at the time governors had threatened to shut down county operations due to lack of the finances.
