Appointed –President William Ruto has made more replacements in his government with former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi taking over as the new Chairman National Oil Corporation of Kenya Board of Directors.
Ruto made this appointment on Friday April 21 and explained that Mr. Murungi will hold the position for a period of three years.
Also, Ruto appointed former Tharaka Nithi Governor Samuel Ragwa to be the Chairperson of the National Cereals and Produce Board and Richard Cheruiyot to be the Chairperson of the Export Processing Zones Authority.
Former Machakos Deputy Governor Adelina Mwau has been appointed to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre KICC while Godfrey Lemiso will be the Chairperson of the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 20th April, 2023.
Furthermore, former Presidential candidate David Mwaure Waihiga was appointed to be the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Environment Trust Fund for a period of three years.
At the same time, National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung’u appointed lawyer Adrian Kamotho Njenga to be the new chairperson of the Capital Markets Tribunal for a period of three years.
In an interview held with him last year after the general election, Kiraitu mentioned that he lost the governor seat because of his affiliation with Azimio la Umoja coalition.
Faith Kawira Mwangaza, the Woman Representative of Meru County, was the competitor who handed Murungi his first defeat.
