Strike –Standard Media Group journalists have today kickstarted a go-slow over 3-months unpaid salaries.
KTN News, writers as well as radio reporters have started their go-slow in demand of their salary arrears which they want settled within the next few days.
An insider who spoke to other media outlets indicated that most desks at the giant media station were already deserted.
The source backed up his claims with a photo image of the desks that portrayed a deserted home with no signs of activities going on.
“The company owes us three months’ salary, yet we only got sh 15,000 over the December holiday period,” the source complained.
In that regard, Kenya Union of Journalists KUJ Secretary General Charles Eric Oduor confirmed that they have scheduled a meeting with the management to iron out the matter.
The union had, towards the end of last month, issued a notice on the planned industrial action in its efforts to save the financially struggling members.
