Reinstated –Twitter company has instated Donald Trump handle following a Twitter poll conducted by the new owner, Elon Musk.
The Saturday November 19 Twitter poll, according to Musk, had atleast 1000 tweets per hour in support of Trump return on the giant social media platform.
Though the poll fetched various reactions from users with a larger section opposed to the poll which they described as ‘one sided’, Elon interpreted this differently saying the majority had supported his course.
“The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” he published the results.
Trump restoration was preceded by that of Kathie Griffin, Jorden Peterson and Babylon Bee who had also been suspended for long.
Trump Twitter handle was permanently suspended on Friday 8, January 2021 in what the Twitter management termed as gross violation of community guidelines through political incitements.
“After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence,” Twitter statement read.
By that time, at the height of the last general election, Trump’s handle had a whopping 88 million followers.
