Monday, August 15, 2022 –Before Deputy President William Ruto – now President-elect – showed up at the Bomas of Kenya for presidential declaration, his home was a beehive of activities.
Several pictures leaked from the home and outside showing a complete presidential motorcade ready to take him to the Bomas venue where both camps were awaiting the electoral voter results to be made public.
When Ruto was being driven to the Bomas of Kenya Grounds, his key rival Raila Odinga was no where to be seen and no motorcade was near his home.
“This morning I called my worthy competitor and agreed that whatever the outcome, we will agree and move on,” Ruto said immediately after receiving his victory certificate from the IEBC’s Chairman Wafula Chebukati.
The President-elect Ruto would later be announced the winner of the August 9 election beating his rival with over 200,000 votes.
He has already promised to work with all sides of the political divide saying he will not spend time fighting back those who have been against him leadership ambitions.
