Opinion –An opinion survey by IPSOS has revealed that Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga is ahead of Deputy President William Ruto by six points margin.
The opinion poll released on Tuesday August 2 morning, indicated that Odinga is currently at 47 percent while his close rival William Ruto is at 41 percent.
On the other hand, Roots party leader George Wajackoyah enjoys a 2.9 percent popularity while David Mwaure of Agano Party remained at 0.2 percent.
Those who are not supporting Odinga say that his age will not allow him to run government affairs and therefore need to pave way for a more energetic young team.
“Those who will not vote for Raila stated that they will not vote for him because of the age factor.
“Those who will vote for Ruto stated they supported him because they believe he has a plan. However, those who will not vote for him indicate that they have an issue with his integrity,” IPSOS disclosed.
Odinga also enjoys a lot of support – 50% – in urban centers where Ruto’s Hustler narrative is not selling well.
And in Nairobi County, according to another survey released today by Tifa on the same day, Ruto is seemingly closing in on Odinga as Election Day nears.
