News -Former President Mwai Kibaki who served between 2007 and 2013 has been confirmed dead.
The third president of the Republic of Kenya died on Friday April 22 night before President Uhuru Kenyatta made the announcement on Friday afternoon.
Uhuru mentioned his predecessor as a leader who was selfless and who was committed in uplifting the lives of Kenyans.
Kibaki served with Raila Amolo Odinga who was his prime mister in the grand coalition government that was formed at the height of 2007/8 post-election violence.
President Kenyatta has declared a period of mourning, including the flying of flags at half-mast until a state funeral is held for Kibaki.
Kibaki died at the age of 91.
