Business -Around the world, people want to know how to start their own ventures so that to attain ‘professional independence’.
Reliable data from latest Google search engine shows that the phrase, ‘how to start a business’ is the most searched sentence. It even beat ‘how to get a job’.
But even as you think about starting a business, make sure you start something you are passionate about. Just like having a baby, there is never the right time for business. You only require to be passionate and hardworking.
Doing something that you inherently like doing can be a morale booster and a motivation to your success. For instance, how would it be waking up every morning to report to an office you hate? The possibility of succeeding in business becomes easier when you are involved in what you love doing.
Forbes.com, explains that if you’re going to make a giant leap, it should be to do with something that makes you want to get out of bed in the morning. Then, when you find yourself involved in an activity that feeds your soul and leverages your strengths, you’ll know you are on the right path to success.
Secondly, never start a business just because you hate your day job and you want to get famous and quickly rich. Things never work that way. Over 90 percent of people around the world hate being employed and if they all decided to start businesses, there would be commotion. Granted, people start business for various reasons e.g for flexibility, freedom, legacy reasons et cetera.
Last but not least, make sure you start slow but think big. It requires not just planning but also dedication. Many people fail to be dedicated. It requires patience. Patience was never made for everybody. You might pretend but when you are not one you will still fail.
Before vacating your office job, take at least 12 months to plan your exit. Contrary to what people think, business is not a gold mine.
It goes without mentioning that, many small businesses fail within their first 3 years.
