Tax -Every worker at Kenya Revenue Authority KRA will be receiving a double pay for good collections.
According to Homenews.co.ke, to motivate its stuff to further collect as much tax as possible from Kenyans, Kenya Revenue Authority KRA management has paid its staff double salary.
The publication reported on Thursday August 12 that all employees of KRA will be smiling all the way to the bank after Commissioner General Githii Mburu announced the reward.
An internal memo seen by writers confirmed that every KRA staff will be receiving a double salary in form of bonuses equivalent to their salary. This is because they have helped the organization surpass the set targets.
“This improved performance was achieved in the backdrop of a difficult economic environment caused by the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“In line with our policy and practice of recognising and rewarding achievement of performance targets, the board has received approval from the National Treasury to pay a performance bonus equivalent to one month’s basic salary to all staff,” stated Mburu as quoted in Homenews.co.ke.
In the notice, Mr. Mburu qualified that KRA had for the first time in eight years managed to collect t in access of sh 16.81 billion bringing the 2020/21 revenues to 1.669 trillion.
