Jobs -Kenya Ports Authority KPA Managing Director John Mwangemi is also holding an ambassadorial job for Kenya in Djibouti. A Nairobi court has been told.
Homenews.co.ke reported that the revelations were made public by Commission for Human Rights and Justice CHRJ Executive Director Julius Ogogoh who is in court to challenge the controversial appointment.
“Currently, I’m the Ambassador to the Republic of Djibouti and I’m responsible for Kenya’s diplomatic relations with Djibouti,” Mwangemi responded to the petition filed by Ogogoh.
Papers seen by Homenews.co.ke confirmed that Mwangemi’s appointment was skewed and did not follow the laid down procedures. Despite the fact that he was not among those shortlisted, he still ended up being picked by the employer.
According to Mr. Ogogoh, Mwangemi did not even meet the required threshold for the office.
The plaintiff wants the concerned ministry to immediately revoke the appointment or be held responsible for the ills.
However, Ogogoh’s request to suspend Mwangami was thwarted by Justice Brian Onyaga from the Employment and Labour Relations Court.
KPA position remained vacant following the arraignment of Mr. Daniel Manduku over graft related charges. He had served at parastatal for a period of less than two years.
