Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has assured the country that there will be no more theft of public funds at the Treasury under his watch.
In his speech at the historical Jevanjee Gardens Nairobi yesterday Tuesday, CS Mbadi highlighted, blow by blow, the exact suffering millions of Kenyans endure even as those holding higher positions in the country continue stealing their taxes, every day.
He took time to narrate how, in Tana River at a place called Oromo, children crossing to school have been fed on by crocodiles for decades just because all the past governments have never taken responsibility to construct a basic bridge on the River.
“Though, I also come from a marginalised community, the other day I was in Tana River and what I saw still lingers in my mind fresh. Children in Pokomo have been threatened by crocodiles for years yet people in government continue to steal your money. Every body deserves care and services because we all pay taxes,” he pointed out.
The CS, therefore, noted that their will be no stealing and misuse of public money by State officers, as long as he is still the Treasury CS.
The Treasury boss added that the rich people like himself can take a sh 10,000 lunch and still feel unshaken but, for the many poor people spread around the country, the story is different. The 10,000 lunch for the rich can be their only savior the entire month or even two.
