Lobby Group Initiates Signature Drive to Stop SHA

A petition seeking to stop changing the name NHIF to SHA has been filed.

In the latest reports on Sunday, this petition is seeking to disband the new health scheme SHA and restore the older NHIF.

Hannah Nderitu started the petition on Change.org on Sunday aiming to collect signatures from members of the public so that Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) can be disabled and restore the defunct National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF).

The lobby group proposed that restoring NHIF and rectifying its shortcomings is the country’s best bet to secure a health system that will alleviate problems caused by the new scheme.

The lobby group, as a result, called on all Kenyans to volunteer their signatures in order to help win the petition.
