Safaricom PLC has revamped its 5G plan, which aims to offer high-speed internet to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Chief Executive Officer, Peter Ndegwa, said, the new 5G internet for business will cut SMEs budget plans.
The leading telecommunications firm made the announcement in Kisumu, saying it will enhance and empower business for growth.
Speaking during the Grow with Safaricom Business Western Kenya edition, Ndegwa said the new packages will give users internet speeds five times compared to the previous packages.
The plan increased the 10Mbps package to 50Mbps, 20Mbps to 100Mbps, while businesses operating on 50Mbps upgraded to 250Mbps.
“The revamped 5G package for businesses will cut the budget for most SMEs, ensuring they get access to affordable, and high-speed internet that empowers them for productivity, improved customer relations, and operations efficiency,” said Ndegwa.
The telco said the revamped internet capacity will support more than 7.4 million small and medium enterprises (SMEs) operating in Kenya.
