Jobs -A total of 350,000 jobless teachers applied for the available 9000 teaching spaces unannounced by their employer Teachers Service Commission TSC.
What this means is that the 350,000 teachers will be fighting for the little spaces in the July 25 to July 28 interviews countrywide. The exercise will be conducted by selected panelists across the country.
The Teachers employers, according to Biznakenya.com has been facing criticism over what has been termed as its decision to award teachers under its internship program higher chances of getting employed.
The publication then highlighted that in the latest teaching vacancies, TSC is seeking to employ 4,000 new secondary school teachers to be employed on a permanent and pensionable term. 2,897 more will be hired to replace those retired from high schools.
Further, TSC announced 1,000 vacancies in primary schools and also intends to promote 1,000 teachers from primary to secondary level. In addition, 927 new teachers will also be hired to replace those who retired or quit their jobs in primary schools.
It is also reported that teachers with Master’s Degree and First Class Honours Barchelors Degree who graduated in 2015 or earlier will be prioritized.
