Office -Law Society of Kenya LSK President Nelson Havi has certainly transformed the lawyers’ organization whether positively of negatively; the jury is however still out.
Opinion has it that many are divided on his ability in leadership since taking over the office a few years ago. In the hotly contested elections, he managed to trounce Harriet Chiggai, Maria Mbeneka and Charles Kanjama to become the top man of the society.
That said, Havi known to speak in philosophical language while representing clients in courts is not just an ordinary lawyer next door. He doesn’t charge just anything to survive in Nairobi. His fees is said to match his flamboyant lifestyle. This was even confirmed by himself when he recently said on Tv that he doesn’t take anything below sh 2 million. Asked why, he defended that his standings and repute requires clients who can ‘fork out money’.
“Consider it a discount if I charge you anything below Sh. 2 million,” he bragged on his recent live Tv interview.
This can also be proved by his expensive suits. He puts on the Montblanc timepiece which currently sells at a whopping sh 650,000.
The Musingu High alumnus is planning to start his official campaigns for the Westlands Constituency Parliamentary seat.
